Our Team

Trey Martin
Chief Executive Officer
Trey began his career at Chesapeake Energy and held various positions as an Operations Engineer and Development Team Advisor. Following Chesapeake he became an Associate at Tailwater Capital, LLC and assisted the Firm with financial / technical evaluations for the upstream non-operated and midstream investment portfolios. Prior to becoming CEO, Trey was Vice President of Corporate Development at StarTex. Trey holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Concentrations in Energy and Finance, a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Mickey Heath
Manager, Pipeline Operations
Mickey has over 20 years of operating experience in the oil and gas field. His previous experience includes West Texas Operations Manager for Regency Energy Partners, Operations Manager for Texstar Midstream Services, and Operations Area Manager for Southcross Energy Partners.
Brian Mosley
Chief Financial Officer
Brian joined StarTex in 2023 as the Chief Financial Officer.Prior to joining StarTex, Brian served as the Vice President of Finance at American Trailer World, the largest trailer manufacturer serving the energy industry in North America, from 2021 - 2022 founded and operated Terrain Water Solutions, a Permian Basin SWD company from 2019 - 2021 and was an investment banker from 2013 – 2019 leading financial transactions in the energy and industrial markets at Petro Capital Securities and MHT Partners. From 1999 - 2013, Brian served in the US Army as an Infantry Officer and Green Beret where he led organizations during numerous combat and non-combat operational deployments. Brian holds a BBA of Finance from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Duke University.
Austin Kramr
Engineering Manager
Austin has over 10 years of engineering and operation experience in the Eagle Ford. Austin has held various engineering positions with Blackbrush Oil & Gas managing drilling, completion, production operations, facility, and pipeline design projects. Austin earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas.

John Ward
StarTex Advisory Board
John brings over 30 years of Team Management to StarTex. John served as President of Texas Oilfield Fabrication and Pipeline, LLC (TOFP), an oil and gas well service company that specialized in production equipment fabrication and pipeline construction. John earlier served as the Director of Operations for Black Creek Well Services, LP; a company that provided work-over, construction and maintenance in well servicing, and related transportation services to oil and gas producers in the South Texas region. John is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
Phil Mezey
StarTex Advisory Board
Mr. Mezey has over 34 years of engineering and technical experience in the oil and gas industry. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, and a Master’s in Business Administration Degree from St. Mary's University, San Antonio. Phil's business experience includes the position of Petroleum Engineer for Texaco, and Manager of Engineering for Delhi Gas Pipeline Corporation. Phil previously held the position of Director of Engineering at Lewis Energy Group. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Phil's area of expertise includes field operations, reservoir engineering, production and economic evaluation.
Scott Martin

Mr. Martin has over 34 years of experience in finance and accounting in the oil and gas industry. He has held previous positions as Vice President for Petex Production Company and as Chief Financial Officer for Lewis Energy Group. Scott has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance and Economics from Marietta College. Scott is a member of the American Financial Association and maintains numerous contacts in the energy lending arena.
Marvin Webb

Mr. Webb has nearly 30 years of energy investment banking, operations and investing expertise within the midstream, upstream and oilfield services sectors. Mr. Webb currently serves as the Managing Partner of Firelight Energy, an energy-focused investment firm engaged in the ownership, acquisition and development of oil and natural gas properties. Mr. Webb was recently a principal and the President of Tumbleweed Midstream with its helium plant and gathering system focused on the helium-rich natural gas formations of Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas. Mr. Webb has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of a private equity backed Permian focused midstream business, and he was a founding member of the investment banking practice at Petro Capital Securities, where he headed the group since its founding in 2008. Mr. Webb has also worked in the Natural Resources Investment Banking Group of Bear Stearns and worked both onshore and offshore as a reservoir, production and drilling engineer for Phillips Petroleum and Burlington Resources. Mr. Webb holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles.
